Questions:

What is the possibility that your dog also has anxiety or other emotional root issues – please explain.
What is the possibility that your dog has pain in the areas that are inflamed (ie hotspots)

@Allergies

I don’t think that is the case with Roxie, she seems well adjusted. Her only hot spots are her feet and since she is sensitive to grass and pine I think that part is environmental

I thnk louie may still have some underlying anxiety or emotional roots. It just came back 6 months ago or so.

@Allergies

For those of you who are dealing with ongoing “anxiety” issues and “allergies”. I cant help but wonder if chronic itching doesn’t cause anxiety (for both you and the dog). I could likely even make an argument that anxiety could lead to scratching & gut health issues – thus becoming a vicious circle.

If we have a health diet in place with no known trigger foods going in, the environment has been eliminated of harsh chemical products, etc – then my suggestion would be CBD – we know CBD can ease anxiety and it can act within the endocannabinoid system to both fight inflammation and quite down the sensations (in a similar, but safer way than allergy shots)

If anxiety is present, I encouarge you to be sure you’re exploring “physical” outlets o f exercise, activity, etc that brings your dog pure joy! And to implement "mental outlets of puzzle, problem solving, learning new things, etc. Create balance and fulfillment to release anxiety.

Feedback???

Puzzles are a huge help for my guy when he gets overwhelmed.
On the flip side there is a pretty strong connection with the gut and the brain. So if the gut health is off it can cause anxiety and can also cause allergies or sensitivities. Especially leaky gut.

100% true on the gut health

It occurs to me I missed including that at the start as I tend to know my client members of this group are already feeding balanced homemade, raw grinds or volhard. But it is a good reminder for me to update that as I prep to open this to new membership support options!

I’ve been considering puzzles and will definitely look into cbd. Thank you!
