One of my mentors taught me that healing occurs from the inside out, in reverse order of the occurrence of symptoms and severity. It takes time. Sometimes it can take a year or more! So you have to remember your dog did not get into this state of “dis-ease” overnight in most cases – so we have to peel back the layers of healing.
Healing is rarely a straightforward journey, for both you and your dog.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that true recovery takes time—and patience. Whether we’re dealing with our own health or helping our pets, progress doesn’t always move in a straight line. In fact, sometimes things get worse before they get better. Detox, healing crises, and setbacks can happen, especially if we push too fast.
As long as we continue to make progress and start seeing improvements and ultimately stability, even with ups and downs, we’re on the right path. Healing takes time and may include some valleys alongside the peaks—but reaching the other side is so worth it! Just remember, trust the process, and stay the course. I’m here for you.
You and I come together to make that happen through communication, collaboration and partnership. We are a team advocating for your dog. It’s where I can help you with the overwhelm, the day to day to support, the soothing and adjustments when needed without just guessing what to do next and without giving up and reverting to the old methods.
