Hello! I am Jamie and my current pup is Tobais. We rescued him from a local shelter in February of this year.
- Your dog’s age, breed, how long you have been battling allergies/intolerances
He is a mixed breed with some Labrador and possibly Rotti and/or pit type. He started having issues in May
- Does your dog have skin conditions or GI or Both?
He has both. Frequent diarrhea, skin infection & itching and ear issues
- What have you tried?
We are working with another nutritionist on diet and have been for 9 weeks. We’ve used a variety of topicals and ear cleaner.
- What has worked?
A bland diet of baked cod, potatoes and berries seems to stabilize the diarrhea. CBD Dog Health Ease helps with itching and the vet provided ear cleaner clears up the ears.
- What didn’t?
We’ve struggled with introducing other foods. Zymox ear did not work
- Have you done any allergy testing – if so what? If not, why?
We did a food sensitivity test thru Hemopet
- What exactly do you feed currently?
At this moment cod, potatoes, raspberries, lettuce, oatmeal, eggs
- List all medications and/or supplements – brand, amounts, frequency, etc.
Now brand calcium 1tsp daily
Psyllium Husk Powder 1/2 tsp 2x / day
CBD Dog Health Ease 4sm drops 2x/day
- Vaccine History? Most recent Vax. Did you detox?
February 2023 @ shelter. Used Adored Beast Rebalancer upon adoption.
- Flea and Tick Topicals / Orals
Essential oil spray only as needed
- Shampoo
Duoxox medicated
- Plug-Ins - No
- Laundry detergent? - Charlie’s Soap Laundry Liquid
- Fabric Softener, Dryer Sheets, Fragrance? - None

Has he improved in your 9 weeks?
Couple of questions @Jamie_RH
- He’s been on this cod and potatoes for 9 weeks? Where is the vitamin mineral supplement – has it been confirmed to be a fully balanced diet?
-
- what did your test results show?
- what does 4sm drops of CBD dog Health Ease mean – is that drops? What strength is your Ease?
If you are already working with a nutritionist what’s your goal in this group? I can think of a number of other supplements and options that I would want to see you implement. But that may prove to be tricky if you’re working with someone else.
Not for the 9 weeks, just currently as we try to control diarrhea and wait for test results from vet. It is definitely not balanced at the moment. Her focus is on using whole foods to balance rather then supplements. Which is new to me as I have home cooked using the crockpot diet for years
For the CBD he’s getting about .25mL per day.
I won’t be working with her forever, the goal was just to try to rectify the diarrhea so I am looking for more tools in my tool box. Fecal culture sould be back tomorrow and we are doing full GI lab work tomorrow. We tried Tuesday but he was way to reactive so we need to give him sedatives
@Allergies – some of you may not realize you have been added to this new section. I’m determined to figure out how to resolve issues for those of you who have been struggling with chronic allergies.
My goal is to create a primary protocol that will be shared with clients. Obvs nothing working for everyone, but I believe there are some key consistencies and an “order of events”. I’m getting more an more “strict” in my protocols knowing that some customizations will be needed. But the basic premises are the same.
Your feedback in this process is appreciated.
Let’s solve the misery and your stress!

Louie still has some flare ups but I think the fish oil and probiotics have helped as well as his strict diet. Does best on the grind and sardines.
